Remodeling design

Renovating? Start With a Design Plan.

Most remodeling projects run over budget, take longer than expected, or end with finishes that don't feel quite right. The reason is almost always the same: decisions were made mid-project, after the contractor had already started. Finch Home Studio works with homeowners before the first wall comes down — creating a design plan, selecting materials, and mapping out decisions so your contractor can execute without guesswork. Whether you're updating a kitchen, transforming a bathroom, or planning a whole-home renovation, having a designer on your side protects your investment and keeps the project moving.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does interior design cost in North Carolina?

Interior design fees vary based on the scope of the project and the services needed. At Finch Home Studio, we offer a range of services from focused consultations to full-service design. We are happy to discuss fees and find the right level of service for your project. Contact us to schedule a discovery call.

Do you manage contractors and vendors?

Yes. Project management and contractor coordination is one of our core services. We work alongside your contractor (or help you find one) to ensure the design is executed correctly, decisions are made on time, and the project stays on track.

What is E-Design, and how does it work?

E-Design is a remote interior design service that delivers a complete design plan digitally. You receive mood boards, layouts, color palettes, material selections, and a shopping guide — everything you need to execute the design yourself or with a local contractor. E-Design is available to clients throughout the United States.

Do I need an interior designer if I already have a contractor?

Yes — and ideally you should hire a designer before the contractor starts. A design plan ensures your contractor knows exactly what to build, which materials to order, and what the finished space should look like. This prevents costly changes mid-project and protects your budget.

How long does a kitchen or bathroom renovation take?

Timeline depends on the scope of work, material lead times, and contractor availability. Kitchen renovations typically take 6–14 weeks once construction begins. The design and planning phase happens before that and usually takes 4–8 weeks. Starting with a clear design plan can significantly reduce delays.

What areas of North Carolina do you serve?

We serve homeowners throughout the Research Triangle, including Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, and surrounding communities. Through our E-Design service, we work with clients across the United States.
